Denis Mukwege
My name is Dennis Mukwege. I am the chief physician and Director at the Panzi Hospital in the town of Bukavu, in Eastern Congo Kinshasa. I have dedicated my life to fight for and assist women victims of sexual violence. I travel the world to be the voice of these women, and have been awarded with many prizes, for my work: the UN prize for Human Rights, Olof Palme prize, Légion d’Honneur by the French government, the Wallenberg Medal, The King Baudouin International Development Prize, and African of the year, to mention some. But these prizes are only for me, but for all women – and men – fighting to end violence and war in our beautiful country.

Eva Karlsson
My name is Eva Karlsson. I am a teacher with focus on the right to education for everyone. I have for 35 years worked with education issues. With an education with focus on the individual, I have during my career worked both with the education of children, adolescents and adults. Workplaces have shifted both when it comes to school level, between age groups, languages and nationalities, but also between countries.

I am currently supervisor of the training of preschool teachers in Nakamtenga, Burkina Faso. The project has aroused considerable interest both nationally and among international visitors. For the success of the project demonstrated both with the children at the preschool, and the “rings-on-the-water”-effects the project has achieved, I have been awarded a National Merit, Chevalier de l’ordre de Merite, by the President of Burkina Faso, Blaise Compaore. In Sweden, I work as a preschool teacher as well, at a preschool with a Montessori approach.

Moussa Bologo
My name is Moussa Bologo. I live in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. I am married and have grown children. After a life crisis I changed my life completely, from having an ordinary job and hanging in bars, I decided to give poor, marginalized, handicapped children in one of the world’s poorest countries a voice in society. I believe education and work that sustains financially are the foundation for human worthiness. That is why I founded the organization ECLA, that became a plant school for entrepreneurs.

Because of my innovative work and social involvement, I have been honored with several international orders (1998 and 2000). I have received prices for creative initiatives in France, Schweiz and Japan. I am working with several projects, and one of them is the Centre Medical ECLA in Ouagadougou, as part of Yennenga Progress.
