Celebrating Yennenga Progress Annual Meeting

Last week we celebrated Yennenga Progress annual meeting in Stockholm! It was a sunny and cheerful evening with lots of interesting people!
During 2011, we have focused on adding structures to best serve our heroes around the world. As part of this Deloitte took over all financial administration and we can proudly present Johanna Eriksson and Johanna Groth as our accounting department.
During the year we also received 90-account, which means we meet the highest demands in terms of ethical and responsible fundraising and projects, and we undergo annual checks by the Swedish collection control.
In April last year Yennenga Progress Burkina Faso, became a registered local organization. Since we have so many active Yennenga Networkers in Burkina Faso, it is important to have a structure in place. The idea is that we gradually start more such units, as Yennenga activities in other countries grows larger.
The structures fall into place and we have many dedicated Yennenga Networkers who help to make Yennenga Progress to what we are! We have lots of exciting projects ahead of us and are so happy for all partnerships and networks that are growing!
Great sponsors offered to eat during our annual meeting, so the celebration could continue the whole evening! Many thanks to all sponsors, our inspiring speaker Martin Sande, members and friends who created a wonderful evening and who is with us forward into an exciting new year of activities!

Pink Caravan on visit in Nakamtenga

Tuesday the 29th of November the Pink Caravan arrived to Yennenga Progress ”Centre de l’Esprit Ouvert” in Nakamtenga, Burkina Faso. For the Pink Caravan group the travel had started in Accra 18 days ago. They had visited different places in Ghana, Togo and Benin before arriving to Burkina Faso. After some days in and around the capital Ouagdouogou, the travel is planed to continue to Mali, Senegal and Gambia.

Thanks to Yennenga Networker Birgitta Köhler, who travelled with the Pink Caravan last year, the Pink Caravan are now part of our network and happy to visit our heroes around the world! The group stayed at the Centre in Nakamtenga one whole day. They took part in the schoolwork and were very impressed by the performance of the children. They were informed about the computer based training that is given on different levels. A lunch was served to celebrate together with the group who got an extra chance to get to know the staff at the Centre and representatives from the Nakamtenga Youth and Foot ball Club.

Before leaving, the leader of the Pink Caravan group said that a visit to Nakamtenga will probably become one steady point in the programme of the West Africa tour in the future! So if you like to travel in an adventurous way and want to visit the projects – sign up for a trip with the Pink Caravan!

Inviting persons and companies, to use their specific expertise, to strengthen the sustainable development of the activities that have been built by our Yennenga Networkers.

The companies that cooperate with us, often contribute both with expertise and resources in the various projects, and with their respective areas of expertise to support Yennenga Progress as organization. By inviting individuals and companies with specific expertise, we gain some thing very important, namely constantly being at the forefront and maintain high professional level!

It makes me humble and happy to work with all the amazing and talented people being part of our network. People engaged in giving their time and expertise to being part in guaranteeing Yennenga Progress to be a well functioning organization with fascinating projects!

Life is a process in high speed! Research and technological development means that things may be going faster than it ever did before. It opens up huge opportunities – and makes it even more important to stay constantly updated to take advantage of the new competencies and best meet our members’ needs.

The motto “right person for the right task”, comes in handy. As Yennenga Networkers we want to see, and find strength where it’s best, and take use of it.

It is easy to believe that you have to be a nurse to be involved and “save the world”, or to do any thing meaningful at all. But the truth is that most professions are very important pieces of a functioning society.

A clear example is the economy. We are soooo happy that Deloitte Sweden, has taken on the mission to be “our” finance department! It feels great! We all know that having a well-functioning finance department is vital to any business!

We will let you know about more companies working to develop specific aspects of our business. And we ask you to think about what you or your company would like to contribute with, in continuing the development of our network, and/or in the various projects that our Yennenga Networkers have presented.

We in Yennenga Progress are convinced that Yennenga has the keys to success, and you are an important key for us, with your expertise, your commitment and your support. Together we create the conditions for positive social development, by strengthening the positive forces and initiatives around the world.
