Celebrating Yennenga Progress Annual Meeting

Last week we celebrated Yennenga Progress annual meeting in Stockholm! It was a sunny and cheerful evening with lots of interesting people!
During 2011, we have focused on adding structures to best serve our heroes around the world. As part of this Deloitte took over all financial administration and we can proudly present Johanna Eriksson and Johanna Groth as our accounting department.
During the year we also received 90-account, which means we meet the highest demands in terms of ethical and responsible fundraising and projects, and we undergo annual checks by the Swedish collection control.
In April last year Yennenga Progress Burkina Faso, became a registered local organization. Since we have so many active Yennenga Networkers in Burkina Faso, it is important to have a structure in place. The idea is that we gradually start more such units, as Yennenga activities in other countries grows larger.
The structures fall into place and we have many dedicated Yennenga Networkers who help to make Yennenga Progress to what we are! We have lots of exciting projects ahead of us and are so happy for all partnerships and networks that are growing!
Great sponsors offered to eat during our annual meeting, so the celebration could continue the whole evening! Many thanks to all sponsors, our inspiring speaker Martin Sande, members and friends who created a wonderful evening and who is with us forward into an exciting new year of activities!

Yennenga Progress Annual Glögg-party!

Today we celebrate another Swedish tradition here in Sweden: Lucia! She was not from Sweden, but we still celebrate her courage and dedication. And heroes are supposed to be celebrated!

Exactly one week ago, it was almost the same expectation in the air. The Annual Yennenga Progress Glögg Party was held! It was a glorious evening with about 80 wonderful people, networking and celebrating our heroes around the world – Yennenga Networkers – and also the arrival of Christmas!

Thank you all dear members, friends and sponsors and of course special thanks this time to everyone who contributed extra to brighten Yennenga Progress Glögg Party 2011!

The Glögg Party was held in Deloitte‘s spacious lounge. The lounge glowed with beautiful flowers, sweet-smelling Christmas trees in different sizes, and lots of candles. This thanks to Emilia Giertta at the VIP Event Design Stockholm AB, who together with Anna Mourou helped us, put the right touch on this evening!

We were also happy to present the “Waste Collection” an art exhibition that is the starting point for the Yennenga design and waste project! To support the project this great exhibition can be rented, so please contact us for more information!

As the celebration began immediately after work, we thought everyone probably would be a little bit hungry, so we were happy to be able to set the table with homemade bread with fantastic cheeses from

Ockelbo Ost, ham and mustard by Nibble Gårdsgris prepared by chef Goran Wassberg at Ica Maxi, and spicy sausagesfrom Ingelsta Kalkon!

The other table was set with sweets! Malin Aronsson at Linas Matkasse offered Glögg and fruit, Eat Ekoaffären offered raisins and almonds for the glögg and Christmas Tea, Barista Fair Trade offered coffee, and then our amazing Ingabritt  Pettersson and Eva Karlsson had baked saffron buns and Christmas cakes in quantities!

And let’s not forget The House of Fair Trade, who added Divine chocolate in the welcome envelope!

Well no one went hungry from this event and also it was stunningly beautiful to look at!

We are moved and happy for all this engagement!

We sold Christmas gifts, which contribute to help build an oasis in Nakamtenga, Burkina Faso! (Trees, energy stoves, food, fruit packages and latrines) When offering your beloved ones such a gift you receive a nice gift card that explains the project. At the glögg party we also sold gifts from the boutique Just Africa, well-chosen suggestions to accompany the gift cards.

In addition to all these sponsors there is of course many more who contributed when decorating, setting the tables and cleaning up ;-) The thank-you-list can be made very long!

Yes it was a nice evening! Big Big thanks to all of you, for a great year!

And if you can read through, the list of sponsors, once more, keep them in mind when in the future you need suppliers and want to choose good-hearted business!

Yennenga Progress wishes you a Merry Christmas!
